Recomended Lab Tests
CBC (red blood cells, anemia and immune system screening)
Comprehensive Metabolic (liver and kidney function, electrolytes), add magnesium if not already part of your test
Vitamin D 25-OH
VAP cholesterol test + LDL-P: The VAP is the comprehensive cholesterol test which includes LDL, HDL and other lipid components. Many people think if they have elevated LDL cholesterol they are at higher risk for cardiovascular disease. However some LDL is protective and some is not. This test will tell you what of the LDL is bad, along with some other markers to tell you about cardiovascular risk. Add the LDL-P (LDL particle number) if it is not a part of your test.
You can see the VAP test and read about it here: http://www.medfusion.net/templates/groups/7241/12677/VAP.pdf
Other cardiovascular and inflammation screening tests to do one time per year: C-reactive protein, homocysteine and fibrinogen
Thyroid screening: TSH, free T3, free T4. If concerned with weight gain, fatigue and hair loss I would also do reverse T3, anti-thyroglobulin antibodies and anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies.
